On 07 March 2024, Troops of Border outpost Chandnichak, 115 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) under the South Bengal Frontier had undertaken a commendable initiative by organizing a Civic Action Program in the border area of Dist Malda(West Bengal). This significant event took place on March 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM in Gotha A Rahman High School at the Chandnichak Border Village.
Under the supervision of the Commandant of 115 Battalion BSF, the program was conducted in collaboration with local schools and rural communities at Gotha A Rahman High School, Chandnichak. A total of ₹3,40,625 worth of various household items, wheelchairs & tricycles for the differently-abled, hospital beds and stretchers, and other medical supplies were distributed, along with educational materials for students and bicycles for girls students.
This grand initiative benefitted approximately 1,500 students and local residents from neighboring villages. Local residents, village heads, and other citizens expressed their gratitude to the Border Security Force for providing medical facilities and educational resources to schoolchildren in the border area. and also said that the Border Security Force’s commitment to improving the lives of communities residing in border regions is commendable.
A.K Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier said that this Civic Action Program not only addresses immediate needs but also strengthens the bond between security forces and civilians. By reaching out to remote areas and providing essential services, the BSF demonstrates its dedication to the welfare and development of border communities.
