WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATED BY ASSAM RIFLES

ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATED WOMEN’S DAY AT SAJIK, SEHLON, MOLCHAM, CHANGPOL AND PHAISANJANG VILLAGES OF CHANDEL DISTRICT,  MANIPUR

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) celebrated women’s day at Sajik Molcham, Changpol and Phaisanjang villages under Chandel district, Manipur on International women’s Day.

Assam Rifles celebrated International Women’s Day with the theme ” INVEST IN WOMEN: ACCELERATE PROGRESS” in which it orchestrated a memorable events in the border area villages of Sajik, Molcham, Phaisanjang and Changpol under chandel district, Manipur.

The Career Counseling and Lecture on Good eating habits by NA was organised for girls of Kovang village. Girls have shown enthusiastic participation in culture event incldues Solo and Group dance by girls of Tuitong School. Screening of Movie “Mary Kom ” at Sehlon village. Also conducted the Fun sports activities for girl children of New Samtal.

Women showcased their skills and camaraderie on a thrilling Vollyball match at Changpol.While a Guitar competition organised at Molcham village added a melodic dimension to the celebration, spotlighting cultural talents.

Enlightinng lectures on women empowerment by a Riflewomen and a lecture by the RMO on menstrual health and hygiene at Phaisanjang, Sehlon and Sajik. In addition, attendees were also briefed regarding various Government welfare schemes available to them for women empowerment.

This multifaceted celebration underscores the Assam Rifles commitment to empowering women in remote regions, fostering inclusivity and awareness. Through sports, cultural and education, the event exemplified the collective effort to uplift and support women in border communities, leaving a lasting impact on International women’s Day.

Assam Rifles remains committed in fostering positive changes and contributing to the well being of the communities in the area of responsibility in order to strengthen the relationship between security forces and natives of Manipur even during challenging times.

The women’s and the village authorities expressed their gratitude to acknowledge the initiative of Assam Rifles for organising various events which will help in empowering women in remote regions, fostering inclusivity and awareness.

ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WITH ‘RUN FOR FUN’ EVENT IN MOREH, TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Central Security Forces organized a dynamic ‘Run for Fun’ event, Moreh Tengnoupal District promoting camaraderie and fitness among participants.

The event, starting from the KLP Helipad in Moreh, encompassed a 4-kilometer route, uniting 15 Riflewomen, two civilian staff, and nine families in a collective effort towards health and community unity.

A lecture was also conducted by the Army unit in Moreh briefing on feline hygiene, breast cancer awareness and importance of contraceptives in D Monaphao, TSimol & New Laikot Villages, Tengnoupal district, Moreh.

A total of 150 women participated in the events. As a prominent force in the region, Assam Rifles continues its engagement with local communities through initiatives like the ‘Run for Fun,’ encouraging mutual understanding and cooperation for a harmonious society.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES ‘RUN FOR FUN’ ON THE OCCASSION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) organised ’Run for Fun’ for women in Somsai, Chassad and Shangshak garrisons of Ukhrul and Kamjong, Manipur on 08 March 2024, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day celebrates women’s achievements, advocates for gender equality and raises awareness of persisting inequalities. It’s a crucial platform fostering unity, empowering women, and prompting global dialogue. The day highlights the ongoing efforts for women’s rights and encourages collective action towards a more equitable and inclusive world.

The event at Somsai garrison was flagged off by Mrs Gunjan Singh, Zonal President, ARWWA. Over 160 families, children, Riflewomen and Lady Officers joined in for ’Run for Fun’ promoting women’s health and empowerment.
