ASSAM RIFLES HOSTS JOINT SECURITY COORDINATION MEETING AT MOREH, TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

On March 9, 2024, Assam Rifles organised a Joint Security Coordination Meeting at Moreh, Tengnoupal District. The meeting, chaired by the Commandant of Assam Rifles, aimed to enhance security cooperation and intelligence sharing among various law enforcement agencies.In attendance were SSP (Combat Ops), SP Tengnoupal, SDPO Moreh, as well as representatives from Army, RAF, CRPF, and BSF.

Discussions centered on strategies to bolster security measures and increasing seamless coordination amongst security agencies. The collaborative effort underscores the commitment of Assam Rifles and allied agencies towards maintaining peace and security in the area.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS HEALTH CAMPS AT MANIPUR

In continuation of its efforts to provide relief and recognising basic medical requirements of people in remote villages with limited reach to medical facilities, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) conducted a Mega Medical and Dental Health Camp in collaboration with HMAR Student Association and supported by District Health society at Village Saikot of Churachandpur district, Manipur on 09 Mar 2024. A team of 14 Doctors from Churachandpur District Hospital and Assam Rifles and 20 Training Staff nurse from Bethesda College of Nursing, Muolvaiphei, Churachandpur were part of this initiative. A Total of 535 village residents including 88 Males, 271 Females and 176 Children benefited from the medical camp.

A similar initiative was also undertaken at Poi and Khamasom Walleli villages of Ukhrul district on 10 March 24 under Op Sadbhavna and a total of 543 villagers (297 from Poi village & 246 from Khamasom Walleli and nearby villages) were examined and provided with free medical checkup and basic medication.

Further, the villagers were imparted knowledge on environmental hygiene, sanitation, life style diseases and contagious diseases and measure to prevent them. The Village authorities applauded the efforts of the Assam Rifles for the noble gesture which in addition to providing the basic health care will also enhance mutual trust, harmony and peaceful association with the local populace.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

Tengnoupal Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (South) conducted various events for women empowerment as part of International Women’s day celebrations. The activities included varied activities like movie on women empowerment, painting competition, cultural programs, lectures and interactive sessions.

These events provided an invaluable platform for dialogue and reflection on the importance of gender equality and women’s rights. The informative lecture aimed at educating the women on various policies undertaken by the government for the welfare and upliftment of women. The important role played by women in all spheres and their immense contributions towards nation building was also highlighted.

SECURITY FORCES RECOVER WIY TABLETS AT MOREH

On 09 Mar 24, during a joint search operation by Assam Rifles, BSF, Manipur Police and RAF in Namkhai Veng, Moreh, Tengnoupal District an unattended carton was discovered concealed in bushes behind the IB and Helipad area. Upon investigation 20,000 WIY tablets were found inside the carton.

Extensive searches were carried out in the vicinity and no further items were discovered.
The recovered tablets, valued at approximately ₹1,00,00,000 (1 crore) have been handed over to the Moreh Police station for further action.

ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES AID AT TABITHA CHILDREN HOME FOR GIRLS AT IMPHAL, MANIPUR

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South) organized interaction, distribution of daily utility items and gifts for the children at Tabitha- Children’s Home for girls at Imphal on 08 Mar 24.

Thereafter a medical health checkup of all the children was carried out by Assam Rifles doctors and requisite medicines were also distributed to the children.

This initiative of HQ IGAR (S) was aimed at upholding the spirit of womanhood and motivating the girl children to embark on a journey for a brighter and successful future.
