“While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation’s defenders, we can always do a little more”.

As part of Indian Army’s continued efforts to care for the Veterans & Veer Naris, ESM Rally was organised by Trishakti Corps at Lebong, Darjeeling on 16 March 2024. More than 2600 ESM including 23 Veer Naris & 30 War Veterans and 8 gallantry awardees along with their dependents attended the rally. The rally was aimed to celebrate the contributions of veterans, address their challenges, and foster a sense of unity and support among the ESM and Veer Naris.

29 Record offices, GRRC, GTC, Other Arms & Services, PCDA Prayagraj, CDA Patna, SBI, HDFC, Canara bank & ICICI bank were also present to redress on the spot financial anomalies/ grievances. SPARSH centre was inaugurated by Mrs Rasika Chaube, Financial Adviser Defence Services, Ministry of Defence and Station Commander Darjeeling. 1251 ESM registered at counters placed by various Records & Station Cell.

A team of 14 doctors including specialists, 2 Nursing officers and 10 paramedics from the Trishakti Corps, Desun Hospital Siliguri, North Bengal Neuro Centre Siliguri and District Hospital Darjeeling offred medical diagnosis, treatment & advice to the Veterans and dependents in a medical camp organised on the occasion. Specialist from almost all departments including Cardiology, Gastro, medical, surgical, ENT, dental & ophthalmology tended to the veterans and their dependents.

Veer Naris, War Veterans and Gallantry Awardees were felicitated and all attendees were presented with Booklet on various initiatives being undertaken under the aegis of Directorate of Indian Army Veterans.
