BSF, SOUTH BENGAL FRONTIER ORGANIZES CIVIC ACTION PROGRAM, DISTRIBUTES SPORTS EQUIPMENT TO ENCOURAGE INDIAN GAMES IN YOUTHS OF THE BORDER AREA

Troops of Border outpost Hridaypur, 82 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) under South Bengal Frontier stationed in the border area of Dist Nadia(West Bengal) Organized a transformative Civic Action Program and distributed sports items to encourage the Indian sports among the youth of border area. This initiative aimed to foster community engagement and strengthen ties between BSF personnel and residents residing in the bordering villages.

The event’s highlight was a spirited game of Kho-Kho, bringing together the Seema Bhawanis of BSF and the enthusiastic girls students of F.A High School. With approximately 400 attendees, including BSF personnel and locals from the neighboring villages, the match showcased the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Students from F.A High School, Madhupur, showcased their athletic prowess against the formidable team of the 82nd Battalion’s female officers. Both teams exhibited exemplary sportsmanship and skill, duly recognized and applauded by DIG, Sector Headquarters, Krishnanagar who felicitated the participants.

Beyond the exhilarating match, the Civic Action Program extended its reach by distributing essential sports equipment to youth clubs and school students. Volleyballs, volleyball nets, footballs, football shoes, goal posts, carrom boards, and T-shirts were among the items distributed to the youth of Hatakhol and Hridaypur Youth Clubs, as well as students from Ranaband and Betberia villages’ high schools.

Shri A.K. Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier, BSF, underscored the significance of sports and physical activity in promoting a healthy lifestyle. He reiterated BSF’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the security and integrity of the border, emphasizing the pivotal role of community engagement in bolstering national security efforts. Mr. Arya emphasized that initiatives such as the Civic Action Program exemplify BSF’s dedication to fostering a harmonious relationship with border residents, essential for fortifying the nation’s defenses.
