On 19 March 2024, 193 Battalion of the Border Security Force Meghalaya, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure the welfare of the population residing along the International border and school students, organized a Civic Action Programme at bordering village Purnanagar under East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.
The programme was inaugurated by the esteemed presence of the oldest lady of Purnanagar Village, symbolizing the deep-rooted connection with the local community. Shri Rajiv Kumar, Commandant of 193 Bn BSF Meghalaya, graced the occasion with his presence, signifying BSF’s commitment to community welfare and engagement.
During the program, the BSF distributed essential items to the community centers of the villages Betgora, Khaikona, Purnanagar, and Badrup. Additionally, computers, desks, and sports items were distributed to school students to support their academic upliftment and overall development. The distribution took place in the presence of school teachers, headmen, and nearby villagers. Expressing their sincere gratitude towards the BSF, villagers thanked the BSF for such a noble cause.
