National Integration Tour under “OP SADBHAVANA” brings cheer among students of Nagaland.
The tour aims at giving students of Modern College ,Piphema an opportunity to travel outside Nagaland and explore historical and cultural sites in various cities , as well as to visit renowned institutions of national importance.
Today I talked to Ms.Bideno, the teacher of Modern College.
She said “I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the members for NIT to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for which I thank Assam Rifles. I was also excited to be somewhere I’ve only read about in my school text books.
In the midst of meeting all the new people and going to all those places, I did learn once again, that we are all humans at the end of the day.”
She wants to cherish all these moments forever.
“All the places we went to, the people I met and the conversations I had with them are now etched in my memory and will be with me until it’s stolen from me but until I lose it, I will hold it close and treasure it.”
In reply to my query about Army’s contribution to social upliftment and other developmental projects in Nagaland Ms.Bideno said-
“When we consider the contribution of the Indian Army to the state, it is not just in terms of providing security to the citizens but also such wonderful opportunities to institutions and students for exposure. Also, considering the fact that a lot of Naga people are employed by the Indian Army, I think we can also safely assume that there is economic contribution as well. Construction of water storage tanks, waiting sheds, etc., are also some of the contributions.”
