ASSAM RIFLES REMAINS COMMITTED TO THE WELL-BEING OF THE PEOPLE OF THE NORTH EAST

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEDICAL AID CAMPS

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) in furtherance of its relentless efforts to foster a healthier community and cater to the fundamental medical needs has been organizing Medical Camps regularly for populace residing in remote areas. The primary objective of these medical camps is not only to provide comprehensive medical check-ups, but also distribute essential medicines to the local populace and as an aim plus educate the people about the role of maintenance of hygiene and sanitation, good diet and ill effects of narcotics so as to promote individual health and overall wellbeing of the communities.

As part of this endeavor, the Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp at Kasong village in Ukhrul district of Manipur on 27 March 2023. A total of 58 villagers including 26 women, 20 men and 12 children were screened for diseases and were distributed with the requisite medicines accordingly.

In a similar initiative a Medical Aid Camp was organised for lunch for the residents of Loisi Village Relief Camp, Tengnoupal District on 27 March 2024. A total of 97 villagers, including women, children, and the elderly, received medical examinations during the camp.

Further, a medical Camp was also organised at Village Zou Khunou, Churachandpur district on 27 March 2024 benefitting a total of 16 villagers to include their medical examination and distribution of medicines followed by an interaction on administering timely medication to avoid prolonged treatment of diseases, hygiene and sanitation, prompt diagnosis, prevailing life style diseases and responses of the queries of locals.

ASSAM RIFLES SCORES GOALS IN COMMUNITY BUILDING: FOOTBALL EVENTS SHOWCASING SUPPORT

Assam Rifles stands as a beacon of support for the local youth, channelling their energy toward health and happiness through robust sports encouragement initiatives. By fostering a culture of sports and fitness, Assam Rifles not only promotes physical well-being but also instills a sense of discipline, teamwork, and camaraderie among the community’s younger generation. Through various sports programs and events, the organization actively engages with local youth, providing them with opportunities for growth, development, and a pathway to a wholesome lifestyle.

In the above endeavor Assam Rifles organised a football tournament at Sangaikot Village, Churachandpur District from 22 March to 26 March 2024. A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament from nearby villages. The tournament was organized in collaboration with local village bodies for the youth of the Sangaikot Sub-Division to inspire them to adopt a healthy and fit lifestyle. The event was aimed at identifying local talent and motivating them to join the Indian Army or Assam Rifles. This mega event was concluded on 26 March 2024 with prize distribution followed by light refreshments.

Further continuing in the same vein, Assam Rifles, in partnership with Telien United Youth Club, Chandel District hosted a thrilling one-day open football tournament in Chandel District on 26 March 2024. The event was a testament to the lively football culture, featuring 28 competitive teams. This tournament provided a stage for young talents to showcase their skills and love for the game, while also promoting unity and collaboration within the community. By emphasizing sportsmanship and community engagement, the event attracted talented athletes and devoted fans from across Chandel district.

ASSAM RIFLES CONSTRUCTED AND INAUGURATED MULTIPURPOSE STUDY HALL UNDER OPERATION SADBHAVANA PROJECT AT BIJANG VILLAGE, CHURACHANDPUR

Continuing its efforts towards improving the infrastructure and promoting education in the region, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) constructed a Multipurpose Study Hall at Bijang village, Churachandpur District, Manipur under Operation Sadhbhavna.

The Multipurpose Study Hall will prove to be a boon in improving educational facility of the village for the school students and aspirants of different competitive exams. The location of the hall is well suited and provides a conductive environment to study effectively and peacefully.

A total of 140-150 students of the village and nearby villages would directly benefit from the new Multipurpose Study Hall. The villagers expressed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts put in by Assam Rifles for addressing difficulties faced by the students in the remote villages.

ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES BOOKS AND STATIONERY ITEMS TO CHILDREN’S CARE HOME AT UNOPAT VILLAGE OF CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Children’s Care Home at Unopat Vill of Chandel district is home to 42 girl children. The institution is a beacon of hope for the under privileged girls and has been instrumental in ensuring the educational and cultural progress of the budding lady leaders of tomorrow.

Identifying and recognising the need to support this institution and the nobility of the cause, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) provided books and stationery items for the new academic year to the children at the Care Home. In addition Assam Rifles has always supported the Children’s Care Home by providing them with basic necessities like water on a weekly basis and understands the need of a sustained effort to encourage and nourish the citizens of tomorrow.

This thoughtful gesture from Assam Rifles was lauded and has won quite a few accolades from the local populace. Mr Rockyngham, Chairman, Unopat village and Children’s Care Home authorities expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the selfless commitment and undying social responsibility of the Assam Rifles.

Assam Rifles remains committed to the well-being of the communities and will continue to collaborate with local authorities to ensure the safety and welfare of the people in the region and to swiftly respond to emergencies to make a positive impact on lives of people in need.
