On 3rd April 2024, Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, Director General Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), along with 10 other BGB officials paid a courtesy visit to BSF officials at the International Border of Bangladesh at ICP Petrapole when he was on visit Bangladesh Border Guard, South West Area under the jurisdiction of BGB Headquarters Jessore in Bangladesh.
During a courtesy call on the Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and his delegation, A.K. Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier, along with DIG, Sector Headquarters, BSF Kolkata and other BSF officers warmly welcomed him. Warm sentiments were exchanged and tokens of appreciation were presented in the form of sweets and bouquets as a gesture of goodwill.
After cordial exchanges, the BGB chief and his accompanying delegation returned to Bangladesh after a courtesy meeting with the BSF officials.
The BSF official said that such a courtesy call highlights the ongoing efforts of both Border Guard Bangladesh and the Border Security Force of India to promote mutual understanding, co-operation, and peaceful co-existence along the India-Bangladesh border. Such meetings contribute significantly to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
BSF as staunch allies and neighbours, India and Bangladesh are committed to enhancing friendship, promoting regional stability, and addressing common challenges through dialogue, co-operation, and mutual respect.
