GREAT HUMANITARIAN WORKS BY THE SENTINELS OF THE NORTH EAST–ASSAM RIFLES

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED A LECTURE ON NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN AT GELNGAI VILLAGE, CHANDEL DISTRICT IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles organised a lecture on Nasha Mukti Abhiyan at Gelngai, Chandel District, Manipur which witnessed the participation of total 47 villagers of Gelngai and nearby villages. The event was conducted to enlighten and educate the participating members with specific focus on youth regarding the ill effects of drugs and especially smoking and chewing tobacco.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEDICAL CAMPS AT SINGHAT AND SANGAIKOT VILLAGES OF CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT

Health check up on a routine basis is essential for ensuring a physically and mentally fit lifestyle besides addressing prevailing diseases at the initial stages for locals in remote areas especially during the times when the regular services are affected due to ongoing situation in Manipur.

Focusing on this essential aspect of scarcity of medical services in the remote areas villages, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) conducted a medical camp at village Singhat of Churachandpur district on 04 Apr 2024.

The initiative aimed to extend medical checkup for maximum locals with distribution of medicines to affected people to ensure their genuine well-being. This noble step witnessed healthy participation from all age groups, reflecting their need for the same due to non-availability of any medical services. The event benefitted total of 46 villagers to include their medical examination and distribution of medicines followed by an interaction on administering timely medication to avoid prolonged treatment of diseases, hygiene and sanitisation, prompt diagnosis, prevailing life style diseases and responses of the queries of locals.

In the same vein Assam Rifles conducted Mega Medical Camp in collaboration with District Hospital, Churachandpur and Bethesda Khankho Foundation at Agape High School, Sangaikot Village, Churachandpur District on 30 March 2024 wherein a total of 602 villagers including 137 men, 177 women and 288 children from Sangaikot village and surrounding villages received free consultation, opinion from doctors and medicines during the camp.

ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES MEDICAL AID TO SNAKE BITE VICTIM AT SENDRA

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) extended life saving medical assistance to Mr Dinku Singh, a snake bite victim of Moirang village, Bishnupur district, Manipur on 03 April 2024 who was bitten by a snake over right leg. He had local swelling at the site of the bite and was brought by his relatives to the Assam Rifles Medical Inspection Room.

The Medical Staff examined and immediately rendered essential medical care and stabilized his condition. Presently, the individual is on the road to recovery.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED SECURITY COORDINATION MEET AT VILLAGE SONGDOI AND THEIGOTHANG, CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquaters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) conducted Security Coordination Meet at villages Songdoi and Theigothang, Churachandpur district of Manipur on 03 Apr 2024 for brainstorm various security issues prevailing in the area and career and growth prospects for the locals. The need to insulate youth from drug menace was also adequately discussed in the said meet and equally well received by the attendees. The meet witnessed a healthy participation of village authorities including the village Chiefs, Village Secretary and Church Pastors. During the meet the locals were encouraged to align their efforts towards a common goal of peace and prosperity in the region. Total 28 villagers attended the said meet and the attendees expressed their solidarity for maintenance of peace and calm.

ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES GYM HALL WITH EQUIPMENT FOR VILLAGERS OF KWATHA IN TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles, in a heartfelt gesture of community support provided a Gym Hall complete with exercise equipment for the villagers of Kwatha in Tengnoupal District. Access to such facilities is crucial for promoting regular exercise and cultivating a healthy lifestyle among community members.

This initiative, an integral part of the Operation Sadbhavana project, underscores the commitment to uplift the community by fostering both physical and mental well-being amongst the youth. The newly established gym symbolizes more than just a space for exercise; it stands as a beacon of motivation, inspiring the youth to prioritize their health and vitality.

The enthusiastic response from the residents of Kwatha Village underscores the significance of this initiative in meeting the community’s needs and aspirations. These efforts also reflect a commitment of Assam Rifles to fostering holistic growth and improving the quality of life for residents. Through collaborative endeavors and community support, initiatives like these continue to make a positive impact on the well-being of the local population.
