GREAT HUMANITARIAN WORKS BY ASSAM RIFLES

ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATES WORLD HEALTH DAY

Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR (S), organised lecture on health, hygiene and lifestyle diseases alongwith medical camps from 5th April to 7th April 2024 at Phundrei Village in Thoubal District and at Sajik Tampak, Joupi, Sehlon and Kovang villages in Chandel District to observe World Health Day. The medical health camps played a crucial role in addressing the healthcare needs of the people living in remote areas. A total of 550 people including men, women and children were screened by the doctors.

As part of the same endeavor, on 06 April 2024 Assam Rifles conducted a “Medical Camp” and thereafter distributed essential items at and orphanage at Monglenphai village and essential aid in terms of relief materials to locals of remote village of Songdoi village of Churachandpur District (Manipur).

These engagement with the local population served to strengthen trust, enhance cooperation, and foster a sense of mutual respect and appreciation. World Health Day served as a platform for community bonding and educational awareness focusing on preventive healthcare measures, hygiene practices and to empower individuals and communities to lead healthier lives. With such events Assam Rifles endeavors to bridge the gap in medical access to the local communities during the current crisis.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCHES

Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match between the teams of Village Chongjang, Tengnoupal District and the troops of Assam Rifles at Company Operating Base, Chongjang on 07 April 2024. Given the current security situation, such events help channelize the youth and prevent them from any unlawful activities. A total of 28 youths participated in the match and the event was witnessed by 68 villagers.

Similarly, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match at Songdoi village, Churachandpur district (Manipur) on 07 April 2024 wherein a total of 12 youth participated and were briefed about the sports culture in India and the opportunities available in today’s environment in various sports genre.

The matches were organised with the aim to motivate local youth to refrain from involvement in the current communal violence in the Manipur State and promote sports culture in the villages of Manipur State.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organized “A Day with Company Commander” at Aishi, District Kamjong, Manipur.

The event saw an enthusiastic participation by 20 local villagers & students from Aishi. The locals were familarized with the organizational structure and functioning of Assam Rifles. An interactive tour of the Company Operating Base was also organized for the students. The highlight of the program was the series of games and activities that was conducted for the children, it included sack race, lemon race and tug of war. Refreshments and lunch was also catered for all the participants. The event was conducted with an aim to foster relationship and enhance cooperation between Assam Rifles, villagers and the budding youth.

The Assam Rifles has displayed its commitment towards the youths of the society and guiding the children towards their future commitments. The local villagers & students expressed their gratitude for organising such an educative & recreational activities amidst the prevailing unrest & tensed situation in the state.
