Acting in specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Samulamlan, in Churachandpur District (Manipur), Assam Rifles along with a team of Manipur Police carried out a joint cordon and search operation on 17 April 2024 and recovered three Single Barrel 12 mm Bore Rifle, one 9 mm Carbine Machine Gun with magazine, one Tear Gas Gun, one Lathode Gun, ammunition and war like stores.
In a similar intelligence based joint operation, in general area M Phaimol in Churachandpur District on 17 April 2024 Assam Rifles and Manipur Police recovered one .303 Rifle, four 12 mm Single Barrel Rifles, two Improvised Heavy Mortars, ammunition and other war like stores. The seized items in both operations have been handed over to Manipur Police.
