Assam Rifles organised an exhilarating Inter-Village Volleyball competition at Chongjang, Tengnoupal District on 22 April 2024, to foster unity and sportsmanship among the local communities.
The competition featured four teams representing Chongjang, N Gangpijang, Ch Tengnoupal and J Munnomjang villages also. After a series of close matches, filled with skillful play and spirited competition, the team from Chongjang emerged victorious. The event was not only a display of athletic prowess but also a testament to community spirit, as 70 villagers from all villages came out to support and boost the morale of the players. Following the matches, a prize distribution ceremony to honor the winning and runners up team was conducted by the Assam Rifles.
In a similar vein Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match with the youths of village Moltuk, Chandel District on 22 April 2024, as part of endeavor to encourage sports and games in the border villages of the district. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the village. Over 40 villagers were witnessed the event. Refreshments were also organised for the players and villagers after the event.
The events were a welcome gesture of goodwill and support to the local communities during the present crisis in the state, underscoring the commitment of Assam Rifles to not only protecting the local communities but also working towards their betterment.
