Second Phase of Lok Sabha Elections in India: Overall 61% Vote turn out up to 5 PM

The second phase of Lok Sabha elections in India witnessed brisk voting across 88 constituencies spread across 13 states. With over 60.7% of voter turnout recorded till 5 p.m., the election process unfolded amidst various incidents and developments.

Voter Turnout:
Tripura emerged as the leader in voter turnout with 78.53%, while Uttar Pradesh reported the lowest turnout at 53.61%

Other states recorded varying turnout percentages, ranging from. 54.91% in Bihar to. 77.18 % in Manipur, Kerala 65.23%, Karnataka 64.85%.

Polling took place in states like Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Manipur, Tripura, and Jammu and Kashmir

Notable candidates in this phase included Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hema Malini, Pradyut Bordoloi, Parimal Shuklabaidya and Arun Govil.
