Assam Rifles’ commitment to their role as the ‘Sentinels of North East’ is exemplified by their consistent efforts, even in challenging circumstances. Recently, they organized an interaction and relief distribution event at St. Mary’s School in Behiang Village, District Churachandpur (Manipur) on April 29, 2024.
These ongoing initiatives have fostered trust among local communities, particularly children facing difficulties amid ongoing turmoil. Furthermore, they contribute to promoting peace and harmony in the region while addressing the needs of underprivileged border village residents. The event also encouraged children to persevere in their education and excel in sports, fostering a peaceful and supportive environment. A total of 76 children and nine teachers participated in the program.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCH AT TUSOM COB, UKHRUL DISTRICT
Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) conducted a friendly volleyball match with local youths at Tusom COB on 30 April 2024.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of the local youths, fostering bonhomie and mutual trust between Assam Rifles and locals. The event also provided an opportune forum to discuss matters which help enable the Security Force to carry out daily operational activities with ease, thereby instilling a sense of security to the villagers. Such interactions also provides a platform to the villagers to put forth their grievances and reinstates mutual trust and faith. The necessity of participation of youth in sports, education and other important initiatives was thoroughly deliberated upon and was positively received by those present. The members were also briefed on the current security landscape in the area and were encouraged to work towards fostering peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES MEDICAL AID TO BURN VICTIM OF P BOLJANG VILLAGE
Assam Rifles has earned the unwavering trust of the people of North East through decades of dedicated service, evident in their relentless efforts throughout the region.
Recently, Assam Rifles provided emergency medical assistance to a burn victim from P Boljang village, Churachandpur district, Manipur, on April 29, 2024.
The victim, a 38-year-old male named Mr. Kaimingthang, suffered accidental burns to his left leg and foot. He was brought to Assam Rifles Unit Hospital at Kangvai Village by his relatives, where the medical staff promptly assessed his injuries. With timely and efficient medical care, including fluid administration and antiseptic dressing, his condition was stabilized, setting him on the path to recovery.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED “A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER” AT MOLCHAM VILLAGE, CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR
Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised “A Day with Company commander” for the youth of Molcham Village, Chandel District.
The event was kicked off with the Company Commander briefing the 51 youngsters about the daily routine being followed in the Forces followed by a short session of physical training. Thereafter, the youngsters were given a tour of the Company Operating Base to see the functioning of Sentry Posts, Cook House, Dining Hall, Living Barracks, etc. The youngsters were also given a display of equipment held with the forces and how to use it, followed by a ride in the Mine Protection Vehicle (MPV) to get a feel of the rigours endured by an Assam Rifles personnel.
The children were excited to go around the Company area and get a bird’s eye view of soldiering. The event culminated with delicious lunch and interaction.
This outreach of Assam Rifles was appreciated wholeheartedly by the local populace and the Village authority expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the selfless commitment and social responsibility of the Assam Rifles.
