Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) assisted and inaugurated the Annual Sports Day of St Joseph’s School on 09 May 2024 at Assam Rifles location. The two day sports event saw fostering of healthy relations with the youth, teachers and locals of Chandel district.
The event saw unfluring of the school flag, March Past by the students and speech by the Chief Guest. Post the inauguration, friendly volleyball ball match between teachers and students and various sports events such as Football, Volleyball, Athletics were conducted.
The principal and the teaching staff were delighted and expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for the assistance in their sports day and maintaining safety and security of the area.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF MATERIALS TO THE NEEDY AND STRANDED PEOPLES OF VILLAGE SEHLON, CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR
Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organized Distribution of essential relief materials to the villagers of Old Samtal, Kovang, Hengkot, Phoilen, Tuitong and Sehlon, affected by violent thunderstorms on 07 May 2024. The devastating thunderstorms for two consecutive days have caused severe damage to shelters in surrounding villages leaving a trail of health issues and habitat destruction.
Recognizing the urgent need for support, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with local authorities, has initiated a comprehensive relief effort to assist affected villagers.
Assam Rifles has mobilized essential food materials and resources for repairing damaged shelters and restoring the livelihoods of affected villagers. The relief team worked diligently ensuring an equitable distribution process, reaching out to the most vulnerable sections of the population.
The assistance provided by the Assam Rifles underscores its unwavering dedication to the welfare and well-being of the communities within its area of responsibility. By working hand in hand with local authorities and community, the organization strives to mitigate the impact of natural disasters and foster resilience in affected areas.
