ASSAM RIFLES HONORS MOTHERS IN THOUBAL, AND BISHNUPUR DISTRICT IN MANIPUR ON MOTHER’S DAY
Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in a heart warming celebration of Mother’s Day, paid homage to the resilience and nurturing essence of mothers in the Thoubal, Kamjong and Bishnupur Districts of Manipur. The Thoubal and Nambol Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles commemorated the occasion with mothers of Thoubal and Oinam Relief camp, Nambol. A friendly interaction was carried out with the elderly women of the area and the relief camp. The event marked the cake cutting ceremony followed by refreshment as mark of gratitude to the selfless service of the Mothers.
At Kamjong, Assam Rifles organized a High Tea event in border villages of Kongkhan, Kamtong, and Nampisha. This thoughtful initiative provided an opportunity for families, especially elderly mothers, to spend quality time with their children, creating a warm atmosphere for loving interactions. The event concluded with refreshments and engaging conversations with the local community.
Moreover, informative sessions were conducted focusing on women empowerment and the pivotal role of mothers in both family and society. These discussions aimed to educate and inspire, highlighting the significance of women’s contributions and the importance of recognizing their role in community development.
The civilians and village authorities conveyed their appreciation to Assam Rifles for orchestrating the Mother’s Day celebration, expressing their steadfast support to the Security Forces and acknowledging the meaningful connections forged through such initiatives.
These thoughtful gestures have been well-received and appreciated by the locals, with elderly mothers expressing their gratitude for Assam Rifles commitment towards the people of Manipur. By engaging in such initiatives, Assam Rifles continues to live upto its motto of Friends of the North East.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES DRAWING COMPETITION IN CHANDEL DISTRICT
On 10 May 2024, in an effort to promote the importance of artistic flair and foster a sense of enthusiasm amongst the youth, a drawing competition organised for the students of Dr. Colvin School, Haolenphai. The event aimed to celebrate creativity & provide a platform for budding artists to highlight their talents.
The drawing competition underscores a commitment toward community engagement through pencil and colour and support for educational initiatives in Haolenphai Village. Through this initiative, on the theme ‘My Dream World, an aim to connect with young minds and also to help channelize their energy in a positive manner towards the prayers and prosperity of the nations and their individuals development was achieved.
The event was concluded with all participants and attendees enjoying refreshments. Village elders appreciated Assam Rifles efforts to organize educational event on such challenging times of internal security.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED FOOTBALL MATCH AT SENDRA, BISHNUPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR
Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) standing firm to its credo of ‘Friends of the North East’ organised a football match with Sendra Youth Club at Sendra,Bishnupur District on 11 May 2024.
Assam Rifles under the theme “Fighting Drugs through Sports” took the initiative of bringing youth together by organising a football match on 11 May 2024. A total of 15 players from neighbouring villages participated in the match. The match was organised to inspire youth to adopt healthy and fit lifestyle. The event was also aimed at identifying local talent to motivate them to join Indian Army/ Assam Rifles.
To promote the culture of sports and fitness, Assam Rifles also presented footballs to Sendra Youth Club. Local youth appreciated the initiative taken by Assam Rifles and promised to walk hand in hand with Assam Rifles.
ASSAM RIFLES UNDER THE AEGIS OF HEADQUARTER INSPECTOR GENERAL ASSAM RIFLES (SOUTH) CONDUCTED A MEDICAL CAMP AT VILLAGE K VANGPHAI, ON 11 MAY 2024
Medical check up on routine basis is essential for ensuring a physically and mentally fit population besides addressing budding diseases at the initial stages. Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precautions from common diseases was also imparted to the gathering. The medical team also elaborated on the significance of hygiene and sanitation to the villagers for better living standards.
As a part of its unstinted efforts to reach out to the local populace with limited access to essential healthcare facilities. The Assam Rifles medical staff and a team of nurses examined Senior citizens, pregnant, lactating women and children were the major beneficiaries of this camp. A sizeable 551 persons received consultation, medicines and laboratory services.
Assam Rifles has been regularly organising such medical camps in the remote areas. The relentless effort of the force towards conduct of such camps have been greatly appreciated by the public for addressing their urgent medical needs by providing them with timely medical camp.
In the same vein, Assam Rifles extended medical assistance to a Cut injury victim of Songdo village, Churachandpur district, Manipur on 11 May 2024.
32 years old Mr Lelein sustained Cut Injury over left leg by a broken Glass pane in the morning and was brought by relatives to AR Unit Hospital with profuse bleeding.
The Medical staff rendered Essential medical care and stabilized his condition by stitching the wound, antiseptic dressing and medications.
The individual is on the road to recovery and he further thanked Assam Rifles for rendering timely medical assistance which saved his life.
ASSAM RIFLES PROMOTES SWACHH BHARAT BY CONDUCTING CLEANLINESS DRIVE AT VILLAGE SENDRA, BISHNUPUR DISTRICT AND KOMLAKHONG VILLAGE, IMPHAL WEST DISTRICT
Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted Cleanliness drive at Village Sendra, Bishnupur district and Village komlakhong, Imphal West district on 12 May 2024.
In order to create a healthy and clean society and to sensitize the locals specially the youth about the importance of a clean and healthy environment, Assam Rifles organized a Cleanliness Drive in district of Bishnupur and Imphal West. The said drive involved an interactive session on ‘Clean and Healthy Environment’ and was enthusiastically attended by villagers of varied age groups, followed by comprehensive cleanliness session. Total of 25 soldiers and 20 locals took enthusiastic part in the drive.
