ASSAM RIFLES BATTALION CELEBRATES CULTURAL DAY AT SHINING STAR SCHOOL, WAYANG, CHANDEL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated Cultural Day at Shining Star School Wayang, Chandel district Manipur. Shining Star School on 13 May 2024.

A vibrant showcase of diversity, unity and heritage, brought together by students, faculty and community members in a celebration of cultural richness.

The theme of the event was My Culture & My Identity, commenced with Opening prayer followed by motivational speech by the Chief Guest. The students had performed a colourful array of cultural programmes which included traditional dances, music & skits. The students also showcased their heritage through vibrant costumes and spirited performances highlighting the beauty & richness of their culture.

Assam Rifles provided extensive material assistance for conducting the said event. The support of Assam Rifles for education to all the remote villages located in Indo – Myanmar border exemplifies their commitment to not only safeguard the nation but also nurturing its future leaders by engaging with students at a formative stage of their lives.

Security forces aims to inspire them to pursue paths of empowerment, leadership and service to their country. Assam Rifles actively engages with local communities through various outreach programs aimed at promoting development, fostering trust and building strong partnerships for a brighter future.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS ‘A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER’ FOR STUDENTS OF ST PETER’S HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, CHANDEL, MANIPUR ON 14 MAY 2024

Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) conducted ‘A Day with Company Commander’ in Chandel, Manipur with an aim to give insights into the military way of life and motivate them to join the Indian Armed Forces.

The students were also exposed to various modern and sophisticated equipments that the Assam Rifles employs in their routine activities. The spectacular Assam Rifles Pipe band display was loved by one and all.

Post the pipe band display the students trekked to the highest hill in Chandel town amidst the lush green foliage. Various fun activities and games were conducted by Assam Rifles for the students at the summit.

The event concluded with a tree plantation activity, where every student and teacher planted a sapling. Cake was cut to mark the day which the students learned and enjoyed in the laps of Mother Nature.

The ‘A Day with Company Commander’ was was one of a kind event for the students of St Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Chandel, amidst the ongoing ethnic clashes in Manipur. The students and teachers expressed their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude towards Assam Rifles for fostering harmonious relationships with the locals and motivating the young generation to join the Indian Armed Forces.

ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTED RELIEF MATERIALS AND SPORTS ITEMS TO OCCUPANTS OF AGAPE REHABILITATION CENTRE, TORBUNG BANGLA VILLAGE & CELEBRATED MOTHER’S DAY CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT (MANIPUR)

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) carried out distribution of relief materials and sports items to occupants of Agape Rehabilitation Centre, Torbung Bangla village, Churachandpur District Manipur on 12 May 2024.

The Security Force known for its commitment to community welfare, organised the distribution to facilitate the structured environment for rehabilitation of the occupants. The initiative fostered a sense of unity and solidarity, emphasizing the importance of compassion and support during challenging times.

The occupants and locals expressed deep gratitude for the initiative by Assam Rifles for the support to the centre.

On the same day realizing the importance of mothers and their role in the upbringing of youth of Manipur in challenging environment with violence, drug abuse and illegal activities, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General South celebrated Mother Day.

The crucial role of mothers in upbringing and inculcating values and ethics in the challenging environment in Manipur persisting due to ongoing conflict, violence, drug abuse and other societal hurdles was acknowledged and appreciated. As a small token of love and their efforts, blankets were distributed to the mothers who attended the program. A total of 42 mothers and widows from IDP camps attended the program.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCHES IN SHAKPAO VILLAGE, UKHRUL DISTRICT, MANIPUR

The Assam Rifles showcased their commitment to community engagement by organizing friendly volleyball matches for the residents of Shakpao village in Ukhrul district, Manipur. This initiative is part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to promote sportsmanship and deter insurgency in the region.

The villagers of Shakpao enthusiastically participated in the matches, with a total of 78 civilians, including members of the local volleyball team, joining in. The final match saw the village team emerge victorious, winning three sets out of five. Following the games, the Company Commander of Shakpao Company Operating Base engaged with the villagers, fostering camaraderie and dialogue.

In recognition of their participation, the village team was honoured, and refreshments were provided for all attendees. The village authorities and residents expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organizing such an enjoyable and meaningful event. They pledged their support and cooperation to the Security Forces, underscoring the positive impact of community-centered initiatives in fostering mutual trust and cooperation.
