The Assam Rifles organised a Mini Marathon for women of the Khengjoi Sub Division, district Chandel on 14 May 2024.
The event was organised with the aim to motivate local youth to promote sports & fitness in the Hill Villages of Manipur State.
The 10 km mini marathon event (womens’ category) was flagged off on 14 May 2024 from Joupi Village with 49 participants competing. The event witnessed the participants following the route starting from Joupi Village till Khemdo Village (turning point) and finishing again at Joupi Village wherein the first three participants to finish were presented with cash prizes for their grit and effort. The fascinating contest saw a good, supportive crowd of approximately 127 villagers supporting the participants from their respective villages.
