Spear Corps of Indian Army Observes World Anti Terrorism Day

In its resolve and steadfast commitment to fostering Peace and unity, Spear Corps of the Indian Army observed World Anti-Terrorism Day on 21 May 2024. A series of activities aimed at raising awareness and promoting Peace were conducted across Assam which also emphasized the importance of collective Action against terrorism.

An enlightening lecture on ‘World Anti Terrorism Day’ was conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School, Dirak, Tinsukia by the Army. Pivotal role of education in combating Terrorism, staying informed about the environment, employment opportunities leading to economic stability were the key highlights of the lecture witnessing participation of over 200 students.

A similar lecture was organised in Town Higher Secondary School, Margherita where dangers of terrorism and role of youth in maintaining National Security was emphasised. In addition, a special exhibition was also held showcasing the rich history of the Indian Army in counter Terrorism operations and ensuring sustained peace in the region. Various schemes to join the Armed Forces and other CAPF were also an important feature of the exhibition.

Tipong, Upper Assam also saw events conducted by Army which focused on honouring the Bravehearts from Assam who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism. Community outreach programs highlighting the importance of vigilance and collective responsibility of every citizen in combating terrorism were also carried out.

The Indian Army remains committed to its mission of ensuring the safety and security of the Nation. World Anti-Terrorism Day stands as a testament to their unwavering dedication to protecting the country and promoting Peace and Harmony.
