In its ongoing commitment to the youths of Community, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match with the youths of village New Songjang, Chandel District on May 22, 2024. This event marked a significant step towards encouraging sports and games to the villages of the district.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic response from the village with over 50 villagers witnessing and cheering the players. The local populace expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles as it facilitated a platform for the sports persons and sports loving people of the village.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES SECURITY MEETING FOR PEACE AND HARMONY IN MANIPUR
Assam Rifles in a proactive effort to enhance community safety and foster positive relationships, convened a security meeting with local villagers and State authority personnel at Sangaithel, Imphal West District of Manipur on May 21, 2024. The gathering, held at Sangaithel Community Hall, aimed to address concerns, share information, and collaborate on strategies for ensuring the security and well being of locals.
During the meeting, Commandant of the Assam Rifles with Shri S Rajen, MLA of Lamsang A/C, representatives from State Police, Community Leaders, Meira Paibis and concerned citizens engaged in open dialogue regarding recent security issues and potential solutions. Participants exchanged ideas, voiced concerns, and collectively brainstormed actionable steps to bolster security measures and improve communication channels.
Similarly at S Kholen village, Churachandpur District a Security Meet with village chiefs was also organised on 21 May 2024. The meet was attended by eight village chiefs and it focused on cooperation and coordination with the security forces, lauding public support in efforts of Assam Rifles to maintain peace and stability, steering youth to education and societal development and strengthening patience in view of the tense security situation in Manipur.
The village committee shared their experiences, views and challenges faced due to the breakout of communal violence in the Manipur State. The villagers prayed for an early solution to the ongoing violence and expected for a quick resumption of peace in the state and expressed to cooperate for the betterment of the area in regaining peace.
The collaborative spirit and constructive dialogue showcased the Assam Rifles commitment to working together to address security challenges. Moving forward, participants expressed their dedication to implement the ideas generated during the meeting and maintaining the safety and well-being of all residents on priority.
