The Mizoram Sports Conclave 2024 commenced  with an inaugural function at the Baptist Centre in Falkland, Aizawl on June 13, 2024.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who attended as the Chief Guest, announced in his opening speech that “we will initiate steps to adopt Vision 2036 Olympics as a State Government policy.”

The Chief Minister expressed that this event marks the beginning of an ambitious journey towards realizing the dream of seeing Mizoram and India shine on the global stage at the 2036 Olympics.

The conclave is dedicated to nurturing world-class athletes who will excel for India in the Olympic arena. He emphasized that, with this vision in mind, Mizoram has been actively implementing grassroots programs across various Olympic sports disciplines to identify and nurture young talents. Additionally, the state has been focusing on infrastructure development and aligning its policies with the Vision 2036 Olympics.

The Chief Minister urged all participants to unite in building a promising future for athletes and to move forward with faith and enthusiasm.

Lalnghinglova Hmar, Sports Minister also delivered a keynote address in this inaugural session. Speech is also published in dipr website.

The inaugural function is attended by Dr. Vanlalthlana, Minister, I&PR,  Shakliar Warjri, Sports Minister, Meghalaya,  Nandita Garlosa, Assam Sports Minister, Dr. Lorrain Vanlalpeka Chinzah, Adviser to CM,  Lalmuanpuia Poonte, Adviser to CM, Footballer and present MLA of Mizoram Jeje Lalpekhlua,, Dr. Renu Sharma, Chief Secretary,  President of AIFF Kalyan Chaubey and top officials from different sports association and promotion organisation.
