ASSAM RIFLES COMMENCES PRE-RECRUITMENT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR AGNIVEERS IN BISHNUPUR DISTRICT

Assam Rifles announced the commencement of a Ten week specialized Pre-Recruitment Training Program tailored for Agniveer aspirants in Nambol, Bishnupur district of Manipur. This initiative aims to empower and prepare aspiring candidates for enrolment as Agniveers with the Indian Defence Forces. A total 24 candidates are attending the said training.

The Pre-Recruitment Training Program by Assam Rifles is designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge required to excel in defence exams. Through a comprehensive curriculum developed by experienced trainers and experts, participants will undergo rigorous training sessions covering physical fitness, aptitude tests, and military drills essential for serving with defence forces.

Key components of the program include physical fitness training, rigorous fitness regimes and exercises to build endurance and strength. Aptitude and Skill Development, Workshops focusing on problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership qualities.

Assam Rifles are committed to provide a platform where participants can develop both their physical capabilities and mental agility, aligning them with the high standards of defence.

ASSAM RIFLE ORGANISED DRAWING AND PAINTING COMPETITION AT NEW SAMTAL, KOVANG AND SEHLON, CHANDEL DISTRICT ON OCCASION OF 10TH INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR YOGA

Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR (South), in its ongoing commitment to community engagement and empowerment, organized a drawing and painting competition themed on yoga at New Samtal, Aibol Joupi, Kovang & Sehlon village on 19 & 20 June 2024.

This event, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 103 young talents.

The competition aimed to engage local children in creative expression and to promote yoga and its benefits among the students. The theme for the competition was “Yoga and Life”. Participants were encouraged to express their creativity on drawing papers. Assam Rifles highlighted the importance of the initiative in promoting creativity and inspiring children to explore benefits of yoga.
Assam Rifles remains committed to support such initiatives that promote creativity, community engagement and holistic development which enhances the bonding between local community and Assam Rifles.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEDICAL CAMP IN CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), conducted a medical camp at Village Tuiring Phaisen (Dampi Area), Churachandpur district, Manipur. The camp aimed to provide medical aid to the underprivileged inhabitants of remote villages amidst the ongoing crisis.

A total of 108 villagers, including 52 men, 46 women, and 10 children benefitted from the camp. Doctors from Assam Rifles consulted, examined, and provided necessary medications to the patients. The camp also focused on educating the villagers about environmental hygiene, sanitation, and the prevention of lifestyle diseases and contagious diseases. Health and dietary counseling were also provided for a disease-free family and society.

This initiative is a continuation of Assam Rifles’ efforts to enhance mutual trust, harmony, and peaceful association with the local populace.

ASSAM RIFLES ASSISTED THE LOCALS IN RECOVERY OF AN ACCIDENT VEHICLE NEAR LEISANG VILLAGE, CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT OF MANIPUR

Assam Rifles rescued an accident victim and recovered the accident vehicle near village Leisan on National Highway-02 , Churachandpur district on 19 June 24, on responding to the urgent assistance requested by Village Chief & the owner of the accident vehicle, Assam Rifles team along with a recovery vehicle reached at the incident site. Thereafter, about two hours of continuous efforts, the team successfully retrieved the vehicle.

The vehicle had gone off the road and toppled beyond the culvert between Village Monglemphai and Village Leisang on National Highway-02 in the late hours on 18 June 2024. The driver has been admitted to District Hospital for further treatment.

All the Village Chiefs, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and the locals expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the unwavering support by the Assam Rifles during challenging times.

ASSAM RIFLES CHAMPIONS HOLISTIC HEALTH INITIATIVES ON INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY: 21 JUNE 2024

Yoga, an ancient practice for physical and mental peace, has gained global acclaim for its numerous benefits. Embracing this, Assam Rifles, under HQ IGAR (South), launched a Mass Yoga Awareness Drive this month across Imphal East and West, Kakching, Chandel, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Tegnoupal, Kamjong, Thoubal and Bishnupur Districts. This initiative is aimed to promote Health, Calmness and Equanimity.

The Stress Management Course held from 24-28 April at Sajik Tampak and Shelon saw 80 participants focusing on mental and physical benefits. A two-week Training of Trainers Program at Modi involved 50 personnel, while a week-long course at Chandel included 20 participants, both emphasizing yoga benefits and basic asanas.

Children’s Summer Camps between 20 May and 5 June at Assam Rifles Public School, Keithelmanbi, integrated yoga into the education of 65 students. Community awareness efforts on June 10 included lectures and yoga practice for over 200 villagers, with separate sessions for women and children in Eastern Indo-Myanmar border villages.

Yoga events between 11-19 June at various locations, including Phaikoh, Churachandpur, and Bethel High School, Moreh, involved hundreds of participants in yoga demonstrations and themed sessions. Creative engagements on 19-20 June featured drawing and painting competitions on yoga themes across multiple villages, with 103 participants.

Medical awareness and wellness lectures in June, alongside yoga sessions, reached over 200 participants in remote areas. Overall, these initiatives saw active participation from a sizeable 2,300 attendees, including children, women, troops, and local authorities across various remote and central regions. Assam Rifles remains committed to promoting holistic health and well-being in society.
