On the eve of International Yoga Day to be celebrated tomorrow on 21st June, Border Security Force (BSF) organised important Yoga Camps in various border outposts in their respective areas under all the Battalions of all the SectorHeadquarters under South Bengal Frontier. BSF officers, jawans, youth and hundreds of children from many schools participated enthusiastically in this program. These yoga camps were the practice of yogasanas to be conducted on International Yoga Day to be held on 21st June.
Under the guidance of trained yoga instructors of BSF, the aim of these camps was not only to promote the practice of yoga but also to educate the youth and hundreds of children from many schools about its origin, definitions and especially the benefits of Ashtanga Yoga. All these yoga sessions also discussed in detail the holistic benefits of yoga practice for mental and physical health.
During these yoga camps organized by BSF, the elderly, youth and school children present were exposed to and practiced sessions of subtle exercises, yoga postures (asanas) and mainly focused on pranayama (breathing exercises). The holistic approach towards yoga during these programs resulted in mental and physical benefits and reduced stress for all the elderly, youth and school children.
A.K. Arya, DIG, BSF and Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting healthy lifestyle and emphasized the significance of yoga in promoting mental clarity and physical fitness among BSF personnel and the community.
He further said that such events highlighted the commitment of BSF not only towards the operational duties of BSF but also towards the welfare of its personnel and the local community. Such initiatives are important in fostering harmonious environment and cultural understanding through practices like yoga.
