Assam Rifles participated in a mass tree plantation drive organised by the Chandel Forest Division on 09 July 2024. The event was a collective commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
The theme of the event was ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam, Plant for Mother‘. The drive saw participation from government bodies, non-profit organisations, schools, and community groups. The event marked a significant step towards community involvement in environmental conservation.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES WREATH LAYING CEREMONY TO HONOUR NINE BRAVEHEARTS WHO MADE SUPREME SACRIFICE ON 09 JULY 1987
Assam Rifles conducted a Wreath Laying Ceremony in honour of the sacrifice of nine bravehearts who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
On 09 July 1987, the Oinam Company Operating Base of 21 Assam Rifles at Senapati District, Manipur, was attacked by insurgents. Nine bravehearts, Sub Tek Bhadur Rana, Hav Babu R Pllai Shaurya Chakra (P), Hav Arjun Kumar Rasalli, Hav Ashok Kumar Baruah, Rfn Tarkeshwar Singh Sena Medal (P), Rfn Subrta Deb Shaurya Chakra (P), Rfn Dharam Nath Tiwari, Rfn Shubhkaran Singh, Rfn Rajnath Yadav made the supreme sacrifice in protecting the Company Operating Base, weapons, and equipment as they fought till their last breath.
Families of the bravehearts were also honoured at different corners of the country as a connection was made with the next of kin to honour their courage and remember the brave men.
