IAF launched Relief and rescue operations simultaneously in Wayanad and Kedarnath for the fourth day

Wayanad:

IAF contingent has been deployed at Calicut airport towards HADR in Wayanad Kerala following the devastating landslide on 30 July 24. On 03 August 2024, IAF Rescue team launched an ALH helicopter to rescue two stranded survivors from base of Soochipara waterfalls near Chooralmala village in Waynad Kerala. The IAF pilots and crew, even under extremely challenging conditions of terrain and weather, carried out the rescue ops, thus displaying IAF commitment to aid in saving human life in time of need.

 

Further 4 x REECO radars and one ZAWER radar were flown in an AN32 to Calicut to aid in searching and locating survivors buried under soil and debris.

Kedarnath:

IAF helicopters Mi-17V5 and Chinook navigate challenging weather in the Uttarakhand hills. Despite the inclement conditions, IAF helicopters have transported 1 ton of load, evacuated 3 patients requiring oxygen, and safely recovered 43 passengers, including women and children.
