Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in a major breakthrough, have successfully recovered a substantial quantity of narcotic substance likely to be Amphetamine also referred colloquially as WY during a recent operation in General Area Shalluk, Chandel District (Manipur) on 24 August 2024.
A Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established near Shalluk based on a reliable intelligence, when two individuals who were travelling on the route on a two wheeler vehicle were stopped for checking. On frisking of the two individuals, 100 packets (approx two Kgs -20000 tablets) of the substance with estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh were recovered from the individuals. The apprehended personnels and seized items were handed over to Chakpikarong Police Station for further investigation.
ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS LARGE QUANTITY OF ARECA NUTS IN TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT
Assam Rifles achieved success in their anti-smuggling operations on 24 August 2024 during a search operation in the general area Tengnoupal. A Mobile Vehicle Check Post launched the search operation resulting in the recovery of a large quantity of areca nuts.
20 bags of areca nuts, weighing approximately 1005 kg in total, were seized from the Area. The total value of the recovered items is approximately Rs. eight lac seventy thousand.
The same has been handed over to the custom department for further proceedings.
