Assam Rifles swiftly responded to assist a victim of road traffic accident in Khongkhang Village, Tengnoupal District on 28 August 2024. The incident involved a collision between a two-wheeler and a Maruti EECO Van, resulting in lacerated wounds on the rider’s right shoulder. Acting promptly, the Assam Rifles team transported the injured rider to their unit hospital, where the medical team provided immediate first aid and conducted an X-ray. The swift medical intervention ensured proper wound management, preventing further complications.
The injured individual is currently receiving treatment at the unit hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
In a separate incident, Assam Rifles provided emergency medical aid to a Forty one year old male of Thingkeu village Churachandpur on 28 August 2024. The injured person, Mr Hengboy of Thingkeu village was brought to Assam Rifles camp with complaints of lacerated wound over face and nose. Timely medical assistance provided by medical team of Assam Rifles aiding the individual in speedy recovery.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED MASS TREE PLANTATION DRIVE AT SHANGSHAK VILLAGE, UKHRUL DISTRICT, MANIPUR
On 29 August 2024, Assam Rifles organised a Mass Tree Plantation Drive in association with the students and teachers of Assam Rifles Public School at Shangshak village in Ukhrul district of Manipur.
The event organised as a part of the environment friendly initiatives being undertaken by the Assam Rifles witnessed a total of 59 locals including 05 teachers and 54 students actively participating in the event. A total of 2200 saplings were planted during the drive. The locals including the students and the school authorities expressed their appreciation towards Assam Rifles for their keen interest in undertaking actions benefitting the society.
ASSAM RIFLES COMMEMORATES NATIONAL SPORTS DAY ACROSS MANIPUR
On 29 August 2024, Assam Rifles celebrated National Sports Day at Assam Rifles Public School, Keithalmanbi Garrison, in honour of Major Dhyan Chand’s 119th birth anniversary, famously known as “The Hockey Wizard of India.”
Promoting the most ancient and popular sport of Polo, Assam Rifles Public School launched Boys’ Polo Team, featuring four dedicated students—Master Nishant Shah, Master Prashant Shah, Master Kartikeyan Bajpayee, and Master Aditya Yadav—who have been rigorously training in Manipuri Polo, demonstrating a deep appreciation for this traditional sport.
The event which included an aerobic display witnessed an active participation from 382 students in various sports activities, promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship.
In Chandel district, Assam Rifles also celebrated the day by distributing sports equipment at Don Bosco School, Chandel Lamphou Pasana Village. The event highlighted the importance of sports in nurturing discipline, leadership, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition.
