Preeti Pal secures yet another medal for India, clinching a Bronze medal with a personal best timing of 30.01 seconds in Women’s 200 m – T35 Final.
She becomes the first track and field Indian woman #ParaAthlete to win 2 medals at the Paralympics.
This makes her only the second Indian woman to achieve two medals in a single Paralympics, following Avani Lekhara’s success in Tokyo.
Nishad Kumar won a silver medal in the men’s high jump T47 category, clearing a height of 2.04 meters. This marks his second successive silver medal at the Paralympics, having previously achieved the same at the Tokyo Games. He faced tough competition from world champion Townsend Roderick from the USA, who won gold with a jump of 2.12 meters
