With an aim to empower the local youth and enhance their employability and self-sustenance, Assam Rifles conducted Skill development training for a duration of one month for Carpentry and Electrician work. At the culmination of the workshop, Assam Rifles also distributed Carpentry & Electrician tools to the participants. A total of 42 youth from Heirok Village participated in the workshop.
The initiative received an overwhelming response from the local community to pave the way for nurturing skill development, self-sustenance and economic resilience in Manipur.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES A SECURITY MEET AND VOLLEYBALL MATCH IN MANIPUR
Assam Rifles organized a security meet with commanders from 10 Battalion BSF, 4, 25, 31, 49 ITBP and Assam Rifles at T Lailoiphai, Sangaikot Sub-Division, Churachandpur District to enhance coordination and synergy amid ongoing conflict.
The meet focused on improving inter-force communication, strategizing for potential contingencies and ensuring regional stability thereby keeping the area incident free. All the CAPF commanders agreed to make coordinated plans to effectively dominate the area and ensure timely sharing of information between them.
In a similar vein, a friendly volleyball match for local youth was organised reinforcing its credo of “Sentinels of The North East”.
The event, themed “Healthy Mind Resides in A Healthy Body”, aimed to inspire youth to adopt a healthy and fit lifestyle. Fifteen players from neighbouring villages participated in the match. The event motivated them to join the Indian Army and Assam Rifles. The Assam rifles also presented sports items to the youth, supporting the enhancement of sports facilities for the young players.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES MEDICAL CAMP FOR AGNIVEER ASPIRANTS
Assam Rifles organised a four week physical training program at Chandel, Manipur from 11 Aug 2024 for the short listed candidates who cleared the Agniveer Entrance Test. The training attracted participants from all communities, where they received expert guidance and mentorship from Assam Rifles for physical fitness, endurance and disciplined lifestyle.
Complimenting this effort, a medical camp was conducted on 04 September 2024 led by the Senior Medical Officer of Assam Rifles, offering Eye, ENT, and Dental examinations in addition to routine medical checks.
Additionally at Kankhu Drugs Rehabilitation Center, Chandel, Assam Rifles organized a comprehensive health checkup and counseling session. The Senior Medical Officer and a dedicated team provided invaluable support to individuals on their path to recovery, assisting the attendees with medical aid and counseling.
These combined efforts highlight Assam Rifles’ dedication to supporting the youth of Manipur, both in pursuing careers in the security forces and in reforming their lives through rehabilitation.
