Kapil Parmar made history on September 5, 2024, by winning India’s first-ever medal in Paralympic judo, securing a bronze in the men’s -60kg J1 category at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

He achieved this milestone by defeating Brazil’s Elielton de Oliveira with an Ippon in just 33 seconds, contributing to India’s overall medal tally of 25 at the event, which includes five gold, nine silver, and eleven bronze medals.
