On September 8, 2024 Assam Rifles celebrated International Literacy Day with great enthusiasm by organizing events at various locations across Manipur, underscoring its commitment to education and community empowerment.
At JJ Children’s Home, Moreh, and All Communities Welfare School, Chavangphai, motivational lectures were delivered, emphasizing the significance of education in shaping a bright future for the youth. Study materials were distributed to support students in their academic pursuits. A total of 75 students participated in these events, gaining inspiration to pursue their studies with dedication.
Simultaneously, as part of the celebrations, Assam Rifles organized literacy-focused activities in New Samtal, Kovang, Aibol Joupi, and Sehlon villages in Chandel District. These included drawing and debate competitions, movie screenings, poem recitations, and a mobile library. The events encouraged creative expression and critical thinking, fostering linguistic and artistic skills among the local youth.
The enthusiastic participation from local communities reinforced the message of education for all. Assam Rifles continues to play an active role in promoting literacy, education, and social development, contributing to the overall welfare of the people in Manipur.
