Anti Human Trafficking Unit of 8th/32nd Battalion of BSF South Bengal Frontier and District Child Protection & Child Helpline NGO in collaboration with students organised an impressive awareness programme on prevention of human trafficking at High School, Betberia.
The programme was organised in the area of responsibility of 82nd Battalion, Border Outpost Hridaypur under BSF South Bengal Frontier.The programme started with a comprehensive lecture delivered by the team of AHTU 8th Battalion & 32nd Battalion of BSF and Anti Human Trafficking Unit Child Protection & Child Helpline. The main objective of the lecture was to educate the attendees on important issues related to human trafficking including child marriage, child abuse, child labour, gender discrimination and potential dangers associated with social media. The speakers emphasised on the importance of awareness and proactive measures to prevent human trafficking.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the school community and other dignitaries, with a total of 166 people including students of Betberia High School attending the event. The aim of the event was to empower the students and the local community with knowledge and tools to effectively combat human trafficking.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Public Relations Officer of BSF South Bengal Frontier said that the initiative of AHTU Team BSF in collaboration with Child Protection and Child Helpline NGO underlines the commitment of BSF and its partners to protect vulnerable populations and promote a safe society. The awareness programme is an important step towards the elimination of human trafficking and protection of human rights in the region.
