Metro Railway has been observing ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign from 17th September to 2nd October 2024. During this campaign, intensive cleaning and sanitization drives at stations, trains, colonies, hospital and other railway establishments are being carried out.
In order to ensure ‘Swach Food’ for Metro commuters, intensive checking of cleanliness and hygiene of food stalls at Howrah Metro station was conducted by the Metro officials. During this drive the cleanliness standard of this food stalls, manufacturing date of all food items, cleaning of utensils, source of water, disposal method of garbage were checked minutely. All the requisite documents and parameters to run this food stalls were also verified. Stall owners were advised to maintain hygienic condition of the food items as well as the food stalls for the benefit of the Metro commuters. They were also advised to keep dry and wet garbage separately and dispose them off properly.
It is to be noted that during this Swachhta Hi Seva campaign banners and posters are on display at all Metro stations and announcements are being made to make Metro commuters aware about the importance of cleanliness.
