Project Vartak of BRO and its Task Forces in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh successfully conducted “Swachhta Campaign” aimed at enhancing the environment and promoting community spirit over the past fortnight. The initiative began on 17 September and concluded on 02 October, the Swachh Bharat Diwas. The Swachhta Hi Sewa Abhiyan was carried out at Tezpur, Tenga, Bomdila, Tawang, Damteng, Sapper, Jung, Khirmu and all detachments of BRO. To spread awareness various activities such as mass cleanliness drives, swachhta samwad – lectures on waste management, swachhata workshops at BRO schools, swachhta march, felicitation of safai mitr, preventive health checkups, painting competition and cleaning of black spots was carried out. This drive was successful in promoting cleanliness and environmental stewardship and fostered a sense of responsibility among the people. The enthusiasm showcased a collective commitment to a cleaner, greener future.
