A day-long event was organised by Daring Pathfinders, an organisation formed out of enthusiastic youths, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today with indigenous villagers from Pesamhuru village of Kamrup (M) district.
501 Papaya Plants were disturbed among the villagers with the motto of becoming self reliant and to foster the rural economy. The samplings were distributed under Mission FRUIT, an initiative by Daring Pathfinders. Each household was gifted 10 plants with the commitment towards enriching nature and the ecosystem.
An art competition was also organised among the students of the village on the theme of Swacch Bharat.
To enrich the local handicrafts, a bamboo dustbin crafting competition was held followed by a cleanliness drive.
The initiative by Daring Pathfinders, under the Project BASTAV (Bring A Step To A Village) aims to enrich agro tourism of pristine fringe areas. Here the project is being implemented in the village Pesamhuru.

The initiative is coordinated by General Secretary of Daring Pathfinders Kirtiman Borah, CEO Hriday Jyoti Ojha, and Village Executive Niren Teron.
