ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES MEDICAL CAMP IN JANGNOI VILLAGE, TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

On October 9, 2024, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS), Mantripukhri, organized a medical camp in Jangnoi Village, Tengnoupal District. The camp provided essential healthcare services and benefited over 100 villagers from Jangnoi and surrounding areas.

The initiative aimed to address a range of medical needs and foster well-being. Beyond healthcare, the camp strengthened ties between Assam Rifles and the local population, symbolizing solidarity and mutual support.

ASSAM RIFLES COLLABORATES WITH A NGO TO ORGANISE THE SECOND SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

In a significant step towards empowering the youth of Manipur, Assam Rifles under the aegis of inaugurated the second batch of Skill Development Program on Hospitality and Retail Management on 10 October 2024. The participants of the program will be awarded with certificates accredited by National Skill Development Corporation.

In its efforts towards upskilling the local youth in Imphal, Assam Rifles had successfully conducted first Skill Development Program on Hospitality and Retail domains from June 24 to September 2024.

Out of 89 participants of the first batch, 58 participants were eligible for employment. In a landmark achievement all 58 eligible candidates have been selected for employment in renowned Hotels/ Malls across the Nation. The conduct of first Skill Development Program was a collaborative effort between the Assam Rifles and We Care Skill Solutions.

Having witnessed the success of first Skill Development Program, several youth expressed keen interest and requested the continuation of this initiative by the Assam Rifles. The second Skill Development Program is a collaborative initiative of Assam Rifles, We Care Skill Solutions and Sunbird Trust.

At the opening ceremony, held at Sanjeevani, Imphal, enthusiasm and zeal was witnessed amongst the participants. They are ambitious and eager to further hone their skills during the twelve week long Course upto 03 January 2025. The Program includes several participants from the IDP Camps, there by addressing the requirement of rehabilitation for victims of the Ethnic Clashes that Manipur has been witnessing since 03 May 2023.

During this event, senior officials Assam Rifles, congratulated the participants who were selected after an elaborate screening process and encouraged them to make best use of the opportunity. He highlighted that in the upcoming weeks, the participants will receive hands-on training and mentorship in the key aspects of hospitality and retail management. To enhance their prospects for securing employment in the hospitality and retail sectors, endeavour will be made by the organisers for placement by linking up with reputed organizations across the Nation.

This initiative is expected to pave the way for similar initiatives in future, fostering a culture of skill development and economic resilience. Several participants shared their enthusiasm about the program.
