Uddipta Singha, a Guwahati youth who is presently pursuing his PhD as a scholar at IIT -Mumbai has received the prestigious “Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award-2023” for his extra-ordinary research highlighting “Novel Method of plasma extraction from blood droplet” at a function at India International Centre, New Delhi.
The scholar received the recognition as a testament to his outstanding innovativeness and creativity towards advancing technology in line with the values of Gandhian principles on 5th November 2024.
Uddipta studied at Don Bosco School in Guwahati, graduated from NIT Silchar and did his MTech from IIT Guwahati. An avid footballer, painter and creative writer, he penned short stories in his childhood.
He is the son of Dr Mahua Bhaumik Singha, who teaches at Institute of Pharmacy, Guwahati Medical College. His father Mr Biswajit Singha recently retired from the same institute.
