BSF organises free medical camp at border village Muslimpara in Nadia district; over 85 villagers benefitted

In a remarkable initiative of service towards the local border community, the 32nd Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) under South Bengal Frontier organised a highly successful medical camp for the villagers of remote border village Muslimpara and its surrounding villages of Nadia district under the jurisdiction of Border Outpost (BOP) Horandipur on 21 November 2024. On the request of the local villagers, the camp was organised on 21 November under the able guidance of Commandant of 32nd Battalion.

During the camp, Medical Officer of the battalion and a team of pharmacists and nursing assistants were thoroughly medically examined the villagers and essential medicines were distributed to them. The medical team emphasised on the importance of balanced diet, regular exercise and mental health, and encouraged the villagers to include more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and proteins in their daily diet.

The event witnessed massive participation from the local community, with 85 people, including 25 men, 45 women and 15 children, being medically examined. Free medicines were distributed to the needy, thereby providing much-needed healthcare services in this remote area.

The village elders and other prominent community members expressed their heartfelt gratitude to BSF.

BSF South Bengal Frontier Public Relations Officer appreciated the initiative and said: “BSF is committed not only to safeguard our borders but also to uplift and support the border communities. Such medical camps provide life-saving assistance to villagers living in remote areas.”
