INDIAN COAST GUARD INAUGURATE“STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITY: SHIP SUPPORT COMPLEX” AT PARADIP

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) marked a significant milestone today 06 December 2024 with the inauguration of the Ship Support Complex at Paradip, Odisha. The state-of-the-art facility, which encapsulates the Coast Guard Store Depot, Refit and Production Team and Coast Guard Afloat Support Unit was inaugurated by the Commander, Coast Guard Region (North East).

The establishment of this comprehensive support facility underscores the ICG’s commitment to enhancing its operational readiness and self-reliance. The facility will play a pivotal role in supporting the Coast Guard’s expanding fleet by providing critical infrastructure for maintenance, repairs, and logistics requirement. During the inaugural address, the Commander, Coast Guard Region (North East) highlighted the strategic importance of Paradip as a key Maritime Hub.

The Flag Officer emphasized the operational advantages offered by the Ship Support Complex towards strengthening maritime infrastructure to support its operational mandate/ charters and bolstering maritime safety and security along the eastern seaboard.
