North-East India’s first ultra-luxury wellness-focused five-star deluxe resort

Ranka, located just a few kilometers from Gangtok, is set to become the home of North-East India’s first ultra-luxury wellness-focused five-star deluxe resort, as the SIBIN Group spearheads its transformation of the Kanchenjunga Tourist Villa (KTV).

Initially established as a tourist villa and amusement park by the Government of Sikkim, KTV has been dormant since 2015.

The SIBIN Group won the bid in 2019 to lease and develop the site and is collaborating with the prestigious Leela Group on this project.

The ambitious project, with an investment exceeding ₹250 crore, will feature 140 rooms and a range of wellness facilities, incorporating local herbal medicine from Sikkim. The resort is expected to be completed by 2026 and commence operations by 2027, marking a significant boost to Sikkim’s tourism industry and luxury accommodation standards.

Tenzing Pradhan, CEO of SIBIN Group, emphasized that the development aligns with the vision of the current government under Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang to position Sikkim as a premier tourism hub. Pradhan noted that this project would bring numerous benefits to the state, including employment opportunities for locals and enabling young professionals to access opportunities both within the country and internationally.

He highlighted the positive impact the resort will have on the region’s economic development.
