Assam Rifles organized an engaging event titled “A Day with the Company Commander” at Nambol in the Bishnupur district of Manipur on 18 Dec 2024. This initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 75 students from St. John School, Phoijing, Nambol, and aimed to promote camaraderie, sportsmanship, and awareness of the vital role of Assam Rifles in the region.
The day comprised of meaningful and fun filled activities like tree plantation, weapons display wherein the students participated with enthusiasm. The highlights of the day were a lively dog show and the enthusiasm among children to gain first hand experience of holding the weapons used by Indian Army. The students visited specific areas in the Company Operating Base (COB) and interacted with the Assam Rifles personnel.
As India’s oldest paramilitary force, the Assam Rifles continues to demonstrate its commitment to community engagement, particularly with local children and youth. Through such initiatives, the Assam Rifles aims to strengthen community bonds, promote sportsmanship, and inspire future careers in the armed forces.
