Acting on credible intelligence input, Assam Rifles launched a search operation along the jungle route bypassing the Permanent Vehicle Check Post (PVCP) Khudengthabi, Tengnoupal District on 18 December 2024.
During the operation, 18 cases of beer, 16 loose cans of beer and 06 cases of wine were recovered concealed in the foliage.
The total estimated value of the seized items is approximately Rs. 94,300. No individuals were found in the vicinity of the recovered items and hence no apprehensions were made during the search.
The seized goods have been handed over to the Customs Department, Moreh for further investigation and necessary legal action.
*ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES MEDICAL CAMP IN MANIPUR*
In its ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and promote healthcare in remote areas, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Changpol village in the Khengjoi Sub Division of Chandel District, Manipur.
The medical camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the local community, with a total of 139 civilians, including women and children, participating. Attendees were provided with free medical consultations, treatment, and essential medicines.
The dedicated medical team offered diagnostic and treatment services for various ailments, including respiratory and skin infections, as well as general health check-ups.
The camp was exceptionally well-received by the local population, who expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for organising such an impactful event.
This initiative not only provided much-needed medical assistance to the villagers but also helped strengthen the bond between the security forces and the local community.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
In a spirited effort to engage youth in healthy activities, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball tournament among six villages of Moreh town at S Moljol village, Tengnoupal District, on 18 December 2024.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing S Moljol, SL Mounpi, Govajang, Pangal Basti, Zion Veng, and Cannan Veng villages showcasing remarkable teamwork and skills. The electrifying matches highlighted the power of sports as a universal language, uniting diverse communities and bridging divides.
For the 40 young players, the tournament was more than just a game—it was an opportunity to channel their energy positively, build confidence, and nurture a sense of discipline. The villagers gathered to cheer the players created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.
The tournament reaffirmed the role of sports as a powerful tool for cultivating harmony and resilience in the region. Assam Rifles remains committed to promoting community engagement through such initiatives that foster unity and well-being.
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS EX-SERVICEMEN MEET
On 18 December 2024, Assam Rifles conducted an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Meet at Pallel in Kakching District. The meet attended by 121 Ex-Servicemen strengthened the bond between Assam Rifles and its veterans in the region while addressing their concerns and needs.
During the meet, Assam Rifles presented a Information Technology assets like computer with an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), a laptop, and a colour printer to the Ex-Servicemen Association of Chandel, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the veterans’ community.
Interactive sessions were held, providing a platform for ex-servicemen to voice their grievances, discuss redressal mechanisms, and seek assistance for various welfare-related matters.
This initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ unwavering dedication to the welfare of its veterans and reinforces the importance of maintaining strong connections with those who have served the nation.
ASSAM RIFLES ENGAGES WITH LOCAL LEADERS TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY WELFARE
In a continuing effort to foster community engagement and development, Assam Rifles organised an interaction with village chiefs and local leaders at Sehlon village, Chandel District, which witnessed a participation from 67 personnel. The meeting focused on spreading awareness about various government welfare schemes aimed at benefiting civilians in the fields of education, employment, and support for the elderly.
During the interaction, Assam Rifles emphasised the need for village chiefs to actively disseminate information about these schemes to their communities. Special attention was given to motivating the youth to enrol in pre-recruitment training programmes conducted by Assam Rifles, designed to prepare aspiring candidates for a range of government jobs, thereby equipping them with the skills and knowledge required for successful careers.
In addition to discussing welfare initiatives, the meeting provided a platform to address various pressing issues in the region, reflecting Assam Rifles’ commitment to understanding and resolving challenges faced by the local population.
