The Spear Corps organised a Mega Tri-Services Ex-Servicemen Rally at Polo Ground, Dibrugarh, themed “You Served with Honour, We Honour Your Service.” This event underscores the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of veterans, Veer Naaris, and their families, reflecting its ethos of gratitude and respect.
Over 3,000 veterans and their families participated in the rally, which featured a cultural extravaganza and a variety of dedicated services. These included a Comprehensive Medical Camp with specialist consultations, pension redressal support led by CDA Guwahati, document resolution counters, and facilities for AADHAR and SPARSH registration.
The event was attended by distinguished guests including Shri Prashanta Phukon, Minister of Power, Skill Development and Medical Education; Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, GOC Spear Corps; Maj Gen VS Deshpande, GOC Dao Division; and Smt Damayanti Tambay, President of the War Widows Association of India. Their presence reaffirmed the Army’s enduring gratitude for the sacrifices made by veterans and their families.
In a heartfelt gesture, Veer Naaris and ex-servicemen were presented with three wheeled scooters, wheelchairs, sewing machines, and hearing aids to assist and empower them.
This rally stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s deep respect and commitment to those who have served the nation with valour and honour.
