The 8th Koijam Yaima Golf Tournament-2025 was conducted on 05 January 2025 at Headquarters IGAR (South), Mantripukhri, wherein teams from Manipur Golf association, DGAR, Indian Army and IGAR (South) participated. The phenomenal success of the event underscored the synergistic efforts of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and the Manipur Golf Association.
The team from the Manipur Golf Association emerged victorious, while the team from IGAR (South) secured the runner-up position, demonstrating exemplary skill and sportsmanship.
The tournament aimed to inspire and motivate fledgling golfers, promoting the ethos of golf and fostering a culture of excellence in Manipur. The event witnessed fervent participation from golfers across the region, showcasing their remarkable prowess and dedication to the sport.

ASSAM RIFLES HOSTS SECURITY MEETING WITH KUKI VILLAGE CHIEFS IN TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT
On 06 January 2025, Assam Rifles organized a pivotal security meeting with Kuki village chiefs at SL Zougam, Machi, Tengnoupal District.
The event saw the participation of 16 Kuki village chiefs from the region, reflecting a united commitment toward fostering peace and harmony.
The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between local leadership and security forces to ensure sustained peace in the area.
Discussions revolved around addressing security concerns, promoting mutual understanding, and devising collaborative strategies to maintain law and order.
ASSAM RIFLES UNDER THE AEGIS OF HEADQUATERS INSPECTOR GENERAL ASSAM RIFLES (SOUTH) APPREHENDED TWO SUSPECTED INDIVIDUALS ALONG WITH DRUGS AND INDIAN CURRENCY AT MATA VILLAGE OF CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR
On receiving a specific input regarding transport of huge quantities of drugs passing through a permanent vehicle check post at Khuga, Mata Village, Churachandpur District, Manipur, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquaters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) launched an operation on 04 January 2025 to recover and sieze the same. A well coordinated operation by Assam Rifles led to apprehension of two suspected individuals along with suspected Brown Sugar weighing approx 776 Grams worth Rs 6.99 Crores (approx) with 60 soap cases, WIY (Yaba) Tablets weighing approx 60 grams worth Rs. 2.70 Lacs inside a Maruti Suzuki Baleno with some cash in Indian currency. The apprehended individuals along with siezed contraband items, all other recoveries and vehicle were handed over to Churachandpur Police Station in the early hours of 05 January 2025.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCH
Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match with the local youths of Old Samtal village in Chandel district, Manipur. The event was a spirited affair that fostered camaraderie, sportsmanship, and mutual respect between the security forces and the residents.
The match witnessed enthusiastic participation of local youths, who showcased exceptional teamwork and skill. In a thrilling contest, the local team emerged as the winner, drawing applause from all attendees. Assam Rifles personnel, while appreciating their performance, highlighted the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and a positive outlook among the youth.
