Assam Rifles provided crucial administrative support for the successful conduct of the 1st State Level Junior Open Volleyball Tournament held at Sekmaijin Khunou from 2nd to 07 January 2025 in Kakching district of Manipur.
The event marked a vibrant conclusion to the week-long competition that saw the participation of seven club teams from across Manipur including AMIMDYO Mayang Imphal, AMI Mayang Imphal, YPA Hiyanglam, SKYC Sekmaijin Khunou, YOC Arong, SVC Santhel, and KEYDA Konuma. The final match, played on 7 Jan between AMIMYDO (All Mayang Imphal Muslim Youths Development Organisation) and SVC (Santhel Volleyball Club). AMIMYDO emerged as champions.
The winners were awarded a cash prize of ₹20,000, while the runners-up received ₹15,000. Special gifts were also presented to both teams as a token of encouragement by the Assam Rifles. In addition to providing venue preparation and ensuring smooth conduct throughout the event, the Assam Rifles extended refreshments to spectators, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
The initiative exemplifies Assam Rifles’ commitment to fostering youth engagement and promoting sportsmanship in Manipur.
