Imad Uddin Bulbul, a renowned lawyer, writer, and historian from Barak Valley, passed away on January 10, 2025.
He was an eminent legal professional known for his exceptional dedication to justice, often fighting cases for prolonged periods, sometimes up to 17 years.
Beyond his legal career, Bulbul was a passionate writer and historian who extensively documented the heritage of Barak Valley. He wrote numerous books about local history and encouraged others to pursue writing. He was also recognized for his literary work, with notable contributions to understanding regional history
Bulbul’s legacy will continue through his numerous literary works and the profound impact he made in both legal and literary spheres.
Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev also paid tribute to Mr Bulbul . On a Facebook post Dev wrote, ” deeply saddened by the passing away of eminent writer, historian, journalist and veteran lawyer Imad Uddin Bulbul. His absence will leave a vacuum in our society. My deepest condolences to his family and friends”
