Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG), BSF, Eastern Command, Kolkata, visited Manipur on a two day visit on 20th to 21st January 2025 and carried out comprehensive review of Ops scenario and took stock of the operational preparedness of BSF in the wake of recent escalation of violence in Manipur.
On arrival at the Imphal Airport, the ADG was received by Sanjay Kumar Misra, Inspector General (IG), BSF M&C Frontier, Sh J K Birdi, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), SHQ BSF CI (Ops) Manipur and Sh Ahsan Shahedi, DIG (G), BSF M&C Frontier.
Further, the ADG, accompanied by senior officers, visited the 37th Battalion BSF THQ location at IIIT College, Mayangkhang, Kangpokpi district, deployed along NH-02 and interacted with BSF officers and troops, motivating them to continue their duties with utmost professionalism.
Gandhi also called on the Governor of Manipur, the Chief Secretary and Chief Adviser of Manipur.
On January 21, 2025, the ADG visited the BSF units deployed on the hill top of Uyokching and Twiching, the fringe areas of Kangpokpi and Imphal East and interacted with officers and troops. The ADG emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination between the BSF and state authorities to ensure peace and security in the region. He commended the BSF personnel for their dedication and professionalism in carrying out their duties.
