1st Battalion NDRF organized various activities programme as civic action programme and confidence building measures among the people in Sualkuchi area of Kamrup District, Assam with the main objective to build rapport between NDRF and common people.
The programme was led by H P S Kandhari, Commandant 1st Battalion in collaboration with other officers of the unit.
1st Battalion NDRF Wives Welfare Association (WWA) headed by Smt. Rekha Kandhari and other women members of Wives Welfare Association also played a vital role in making the programme a success and distributed clothes and dignity kits among the needy in Sanpara Parbat village.
Medical Officer of 1st Battalion NDRF along with Doctors from Sub Division Hospital Sualkuchi conducted health check-up of the local patients and provided medicines as per requirement.
Besides, various sports material was distributed to the school and local clubs and various rope assisted rescue techniques were demonstrated to the local youth and school children. During this, an adventure camp was organized for the children in which they participated in rappelling, slithering, rock climbing and zip line. They were also made aware about the use of rope rescue techniques in crossing landslides and drains during floods.
The program was attended by Dr. Karthik Medhi, CMO Sualkuchi Sub-Division Hospital, Village Mukhiya (Gram Pradhan) Keshav Vaish and other respected members of the area.
The program was appreciated by all and concluded with refreshments to all the villagers and beneficiaries.
