Acting on specific intelligence of movement of Illegal Areca Nuts in general area Zote, Champhai, Assam Rifles and Customs Preventive Force,Champhai launched a patrol towards Ngur – Zote Crossing Point on 21 March 25. Thorough search of the area during the operation led to recovery of 180 bags of illegal Areca nuts dumped and hidden in the jungle. The recovered items worth Rupees 1,00,80,000, have been handed over to Customs Preventive Force, Champhai.
